What keeps pulling me in.

A map of my current rabbit holes. The closer something sits to the center, the more often I come back to it lately. The edge means parked, not abandoned.

Computers, especially old ones

Often in my head

I tinker with computers constantly, especially older machines that can still be made useful.

What pulls you in?

Pick anything we have in common. Gold interests glow in the vortex.

Pick anything you are into too.

The map, explained

The same interests, without making you chase the words.

  1. 01

    Computers, especially old ones

    Often in my head

I tinker with computers constantly, especially older machines that can still be made useful.

  2. 02

    Badminton

    Often in my head

I play three or four times most weeks, so this has become less of a side interest and more of a routine.

  3. 03

    Coding side projects

    Often in my head

Most of my coding starts with something annoying me enough to build a small tool for it.

  4. 04

    LLMs

    Often in my head

Using them, measuring them, and occasionally making several of them argue with each other.

  5. 05

    Homelab & self-hosting

    Often in my head

Running services at home because maintaining them myself is somehow the fun option.

  6. 06

    Planespotting

    Often in my head

Waiting around for one interesting arrival, usually while the weather changes its mind.

  7. 07

    Raspberry Pi contraptions

    Comes in waves

If a Pi can become a server, watchdog, or pocket computer, I will probably try it.

  8. 08

    Aviation photography

    Comes in waves

Big lenses, moving subjects, too many photos, and the occasional frame worth keeping.

  9. 09

    Home networking

    Comes in waves

Headscale, DNS, tunnels, and diagrams explaining why any of it works.

  10. 10

    Electronics & IoT

    Comes in waves

ESP boards, sensors, and wires that were definitely working five minutes ago.

  11. 11

    Home automation

    Comes in waves

Home Assistant and the slow process of giving ordinary switches unnecessary opinions.

  12. 12

    F1

    Parked for now

Watching races and judging strategy calls from the safety of the sofa.

  13. 13

    Cycling around Beijing

    Parked for now

Riding around the city when the weather and air cooperate.

Position means current attention, not importance. This map will move when I do.
